LYNorthey, Woven Textiles

Lyn Northey was drawn to weaving by the endless expressions of colour, texture and pattern, but also for the ordered structure and the slow and rhythmic process of making. Working on a floor loom in her rural studio in the Haliburton Highlands, Lyn uses her hand-woven cloth to craft practical goods. Yardage is sewn into zipped pouches, purses and handbags, while hand-dyed yarn is woven into custom-designed floor rugs and acoustic wall hangings.
