My hooked wool art is inspired by my own paintings and experiences. With rich and varied texture and bold colour, my artwork is a mirror of myself—dynamic, outgoing, and optimistic. Collecting beautiful wool and fibres everywhere I go, cutting them up by hand and rotary cutter, and recycling old sweaters is all a part of the creative process. Hooking is slow and meditative, one hand-pulled loop at a time. The final product is rich and dimensional, as if I had "painted with wool" to create this cozy work with depth and emotional connection. In this world of technology and automation, it's nice to know some things are made by hand with big love!
